What happened to Demonoid today?

Is Demonoid is down??

New! “Tricky ways to access Demonoid” poster here http://electromice.blogspot.com/2009/09/how-to-access-demonoid-in-tricky-way.html take a look and give your comments.

While trying to access the worlds best torrent search engine www.demonoid.com today, all are facing a general error that is “HTTP 500 Internal Server Error”.

If anybody knows the possible reason, please leave that as comments.

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for your interest to post your question here about the demonoid.  After a deep enquiry, it comes to know that demonoid got some technical hardware problem.  since they have dedicated server for torrentz, they cannot redirect their URL to some server which can be lend.
But is is pretty sure that they will back in a sort time.  Im sure about this because any of law, acts will not bond demonoid, because think about the mininova, Mightynova, Meganova, H33T, ISO hunt, Sumo Torrent, The Pirate bay etc.,  these torrent tracking sites are still alive. 
so, this is purely technical problem and demonoid will be back soon.

    I live in Australia and haven't been able to access Demonoid.com all day here... It is september 1st, 2009... I get HTTP 500 Internal Server Error, most likely causes from internet explorer: The website is under maintenance, or has a programming error... Does anybody know whats happening???

    I was reading the Demonoid forums and apparantly they are having some hardware issues. They might be down 4 days maybe... Try refreshing a bunch of times. It worked 4 me. I hope they fix everything back 2 normal soon...

    sorry this is not about the error, i thought demonoid opens registration in the beginning of every month.. it's today the first of september and it's still close..

    Refreshing the browser DOES work - and I'm using IE at present. May take a few attempts to get in, and you may still hit blank screens, but keep refreshing and you WILL get there.

    This is clearly an issue with hardware and not an indicator that the site is about to be taken offline.

    Here in France (server Orange) still no sign of Demonoid.
    Tnx to all above for them info, up until now I tought I was the only one.
    I came through with a proxy sever, but then it wrecked on my password.
    Enfin, un peu de patience, and...there is the pirate bay...and Utorrent works even with my Demonoid torrents.

    After visit demonoid again by this noon it gives an error like "HTTP 404 Not Found". For the Past 15 days it shown as "HTTP 500" but now it shows something different. Cannot decide whats happening there at demonoid.

    But it is clear that they have some problem in their server side.

    404 in texas since last night. 26 out of 57 torrents still uploading, wonder how long that will last. hope it comes back online. not abandoning ship but is there anyplace as good as demonoid online? got a bug from pirate bay, not going there again.

    i agree, i really do. but where can we go if the unthinkable does happens, i have a lot of good movies and i bet there are a few people that might be interested in them, so if one site goes down (or away) a new home is the only choice. nothing is better than demonoid, but what site is close to being as good as?

Also, The Pirate Bay has been blocked for the past two weeks and there's been legal proceedings to try have other bit-torrent sites blocked too.

    they've been having power outages in the ukraine were it's based!!! so there servers are prolly shot. I'm sure it's going to take a while to fix this issue seeings how we don't know what and how much is damaged. But I'm sure they are doing what they can to get things up and going, because demonoid is prolly one of the most dedicated servers to their hosts ever in the torrent community! Long live DEMONOID!!!!

    i use demonid all the time .but last 3 days it says undermantinance this will be a prolonged downtime. sorry my spelling shit lol.enyone no wotes going on .have thay gone under ? there is 1 our 2 other note bad sites to try like toxic torrents .piretbay.isohunt.minnova.btjunky. i would use toxic torrents our if u can not get invite use isohunt.hope demonid come back online sown

    This Super Sucks!!! I live in Florida and no Demonoid here as well. I think we all know by now that they are down for a maintenance issue related to the power grid they are on in Ukraine.

    This too shall pass, but its getting harder every day that goes by. Come back to us Demonoid.

    If their server is down, then you wouldn't get a maintenance error. It would straight 404 error. The DNS wouldn't resolve. Which means, the server is most likely working and stable. Think on that.

    bitsoup is nothing like demonoid, and anyone making a comparison between the 2 does not know demonoid, no one has to wait any amount of time to upload anything, certainly not 3 weeks, there are no "power users" demonoid issues 5 warning before you banned, if you ratio dropped low you are punished for it on bitsoup.....whereas nothing happenes to you on demonoid. stop spreading lies about demonoid. never once did i get any kind of raise your ratio or else email from demonoid. there is no other site like demonoid, i have been and are still looking just in case there is, but if its out there i have not found it yet.

    Its been down in Oregon for almost 2 weeks. If they need help purchasing new hardware, i am willing to donate ... I dont think this is a server issue though. They have alot more than 1 server hosting their site ... Unless its like an IBM AS400 or somthing, I garantee its more than one server.

    wow that was really well put, probably has more memberships in pirate sites than most people. for anyone interested, there is group on yahoo called "demonoid inside the walls" it is for people with demonoid memberships, so far it is up to 24 members, again the group is only for demonoid membership holders, spam and "potty-mouth" talk is not tolerated there, just a place for demonoid folk to hold up till the site comes back online.

    I would be worried about legal issues facing demoniod and its members; i.e. being forced to hand over torrent logs, trackers, IP's, MAC addresses , etc. They could be coming after people. get prepared for torrent armaggedon...

    Edit: There are some rumors about the site shutting down for good and we starting a new tracker next year. the rumors are of course, lies. There are no plans of shutting down or creating another site.

    And there is NO official twitter/facebook/any other web community page for Demonoid. There are a few around that were created by fans and have no link to the site or staff.
    The parts of the site code that got deleted are being rewritten and should be ready soon. We are also working to try and minimise the data loss as much as possible.

    I am still trying to understand this, how can you "delete the code" when you should have 2-3 backups of it all the time. So if one site deletes it, another place would have the code. Another thing, why is it takening so long and so many different reasons. First site was down for little, then was server needed work, then worker who can fix problem is on vacation, now it is deleted code, whats next? they lost all torrents and such, so they be back to nuthing?...... not only that, the weird comment about they are not switching to different tracker and such??

    I loved demonoid, but man, almost 3 months, that is bad. They moved to other servers before, so there should be copy of the code somewhere, why does it need rewriting.

    Sorry for the rant, it is getting annoying that it has been down so long, they going loss alot members, some which donated often. I just hope they prove me wrong and be back to noraml soon
